Completed in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. When it first opened, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world. With its promenade down the center for pedestrians and bicyclists, it also gives a spectacular view of lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.
