A Damn Fine Beer – Strahov Brewery (Pivovar) – Prague
Strahov Brewery is a small operation. The beer, dubbed ‘St. Norbert’ comes in a light and dark variety. We sampled the light version. At 60 crowns for a 0.4 liter glass it’s not cheap comparatively speaking, but it really is a damn fine beer. We had to drag ourselves out after only one beer to enjoy the rest of the sunny day. One can easily imagine gloriously wasting a whole afternoon in this place.Pictured here is one of the beer maintenance men. He does not look like a monk (I did think this was a monk’s cloister / brewery) but I trust he knows what he’s doing. He’s cleaning these lovely bronze vats for the next batch.
